Ikhlas (sincerity)
We serve for the sake of Allah, not for applause. No cameras at a family’s door and no need counted twice for effect.
About us
Al-Khairi exists to put relief into the hands of orphans, widows and families in dire need as quickly as it can honestly be done, and to account for every step of that journey.

In 2018 a group of neighbours in Tamale pooled what they had to help one household through a hard season: a widowed mother with four children and nothing left to sell. They did not stop at that one door. Word travelled, requests followed, and what began as a single act of kindness became a weekly food run, then a volunteer rota, then a foundation with a constitution and a board.
Our grounding has never shifted. Al-Khairi is an Islamic foundation and a Ghanaian one: we take our duty to the orphan, the widow, the sick and the traveller from our faith, and we carry it out in the communities we know by name. We deliver in person, we serve people of every faith, and when we cannot help we say so plainly rather than quietly letting a request go unanswered.
Today we work across six aims: orphan sponsorship, emergency relief, vocational training, clean water, medical care, and building mosques, schools and clinics where they are needed most. Each one is built around the same commitment: relief should arrive while it can still change the outcome, not weeks after the crisis has passed.
2018
The year we began
From one food parcel in Tamale to six aims, hundreds of families, and a network of volunteers who keep it all moving.
These are not slogans on a wall, they are the tests we apply before spending a cedi or making a promise to a family.
We serve for the sake of Allah, not for applause. No cameras at a family’s door and no need counted twice for effect.
What is given in trust is spent in trust. We only promise what we can deliver, and we deliver what we promise.
Orphans, widows and the destitute are met as neighbours, never as statistics or as a photo opportunity.
Open books, published accounts and plain-language reporting on every programme we run in Ghana.
Small foundation, high standard. We measure outcomes, not intentions, and look for the fastest honest way to help.
Charity is a responsibility before it is an activity. Here is how we hold ourselves to that standard.
Registered charity no. 0000000. We operate under a written constitution with an independent board of trustees.
Full annual accounts and an impact report are published every year and available on request.
Fundraising, spending and approval are handled by different people. No single person controls a payment.
Beneficiary and donor information is held securely, never sold, and never shared without consent.
Ask us. We will show you our accounts, how funds reach the ground, and which families your giving is helping this month.
